THe indiana commision of local government has recommended that the sherrifs position be an appointed position. This is a very controversial topic. Sherrif Ron Richardson said that he does not agree with making the postion an appointed position and that be believes that the people should be abale to vote on a position that includes a lot of intergrity. Most say they agree with the election process of the sherrif, because if the sherrif is not doing their job they are then voted out. For most counties the sherrifs race is the highest vote getter.
